During a WPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Giants, something special happened at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Shreyanka Patil, a player from RCB, got a surprise. A fan held up a sign asking her to marry him! This happened in the seventh over of RCB’s innings. When the camera showed the sign, the RCB players couldn’t help but smile. In the game, Smriti Mandhana and Sabbhineni Meghana played exceptionally well for RCB. They helped RCB easily win by eight wickets against Gujarat Giants. Mandhana and Sophie Devine started batting for RCB when they were chasing 108 runs. They made a partnership of 32 runs until Ashleigh Gardner got Devine out in the fourth over. Devine only scored six runs from six balls with one four.
Even though Devine got out, Mandhana kept playing excellently. She scored 43 runs from 27 balls with a strike rate of 159.26 until Tanuja Kanwar dismissed her in the ninth over. Mandhana hit eight fours and one six. After Mandhana’s dismissal, Sabbhineni Meghana and Ellyse Perry took over. They played till the end and successfully chased the 108-run target.
Meghana scored 36 runs from 28 balls with a strike rate of 128.57. She hit five fours and one six. Perry hit four fours, helping RCB reach 110/2 and win their second consecutive match in the T20 tournament.
