Glenn Maxwell matched Rohit Sharma’s record for the most centuries in T20I matches. Both now have 5 T20I centuries. Maxwell scored a blazing 120 runs against West Indies in the 2nd T20 on Sunday. He reached 120 in just 55 balls, hitting 12 boundaries and 8 sixes to help Australia score 241/4.

“It was really fun. Batting here is always good. The wickets were great during the Big Bash tournament. The pitch was good today too. I always rely on my hand speed, and it worked well today. I try to give myself the best chance always. My parents are here in Adelaide too. It’s nice to play a positive innings,” Maxwell said during the mid-innings break.

West Indies tried to chase the total, but despite a spirited 63 from captain Rovman Powell, they lost by 34 runs.

In the 1st T20I on Friday, David Warner celebrated his 100th T20I appearance by scoring 70 off 36 balls. Adam Zampa took 3-26 as Australia won by 11 runs. Warner and Tim David (37 not out off 17 balls) finished strong to reach 213-7 after being asked to bat first.

West Indies couldn’t chase down the target despite a brisk start from Brandon King (53) and Johnson Charles (42). Zampa’s crucial blows limited them to 202-8 in 20 overs.

Warner and Josh Inglis (39) scored runs quickly against Akeal Hosein and pace of Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph (2-46), scoring 93 runs in eight overs.

Australia won the three-match one-day international series and split the two-Test series with West Indies.
