WPL 2024

Kashvee Gautam and Kanika Ahuja ruled out from WPL 2024 due to injuries.

Kashvee Gautam, an allrounder for Gujarat Giants, won a big deal worth INR 2 crore but sadly, she can’t play in the upcoming WPL 2024 because she got injured. Instead, Sayali Satghare, another allrounder who hasn’t played in the big leagues much, will take her place for INR 10 lakh.

Kanika Ahuja, who spins and plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), also got injured and won’t be able to play. Shraddha Pokharkar, who throws left-handed and usually plays for Maharashtra, will step in for her, also for INR 10 lakh. Pokharkar helped India by practicing with them for their T20 matches against Australia in December 2022.

Giants will miss Kashvee a lot because she played really well in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy last November. She took 12 wickets in seven games with an average economy rate. She even played for India A and helped them win games. Ahuja did well for RCB last year too, scoring 98 runs and taking two wickets. She was a star player in a match against Bangladesh. Satghare, who replaces her, did great for Mumbai, taking eight wickets while they won the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.

The WPL’s second season begins in Bengaluru on February 23rd.
