Sunil Gavaskar, the famous Indian cricket player, shared his thoughts about the Chennai Super Kings’ performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He was impressed! Gavaskar made a big guess about what could happen with the team led by MS Dhoni. Last year, during IPL 2023, Gavaskar noticed that CSK wasn’t very strong in bowling. But now, with some new players, they seem to have fixed that problem. He also liked how the team leaders balanced young and experienced players. He believes they could make it to the playoffs, which is a big deal.
Gavaskar talked about the team’s performance in Star Sports. He noticed that CSK bought some new players during the IPL Auction 2024. They spent a good amount of money to get these players: Rachin Ravindra, Shardul Thakur, Drayl Mitchell, Sameer Rizvi, Mustafizur Rahman, and Avanish Rao Aravelly.
CSK also kept many of their old players for the upcoming matches. These include Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, Dwaine Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana, Prashant Solanki, Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Choudhary, Simarjeet Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mitchell Santner, and Matheesha Pathirana.
Gavaskar thinks CSK will do well and make it to the top four teams. He’s not saying they will definitely win, but CSK has a good track record. They’ve made it to the playoffs 12 times out of 16 editions. So, he believes it’s very likely they’ll make it 13 times this year!
