Every so often, the leader of India’s cricket team, Rohit Sharma, says really funny things that make everyone laugh. Even when the game is intense, he manages to say something funny. This happened during the second India vs. England Test match in Rajkot. After India scored 445 runs in their first turn to bat, England, led by Ben Duckett, played aggressively and ended the day at 207/2 after 35 overs.
Besides Duckett scoring the fastest hundred for England, the Indian bowlers struggled. Even Ravindra Jadeja, who usually bowls well, made a couple of mistakes with no balls. To cheer up Jadeja, Rohit Sharma told him on the mic, “Jaddu, think of it like a T20 game. Don’t make no-ball mistakes.” Rohit Sharma encouraged Jadeja to imagine he was playing a T20 match, where no-ball mistakes aren’t allowed.

Duckett’s 88-ball century changed the game. England is 238 runs behind India with 8 wickets left. Duckett will continue batting on Day 3 with Joe Root, who hasn’t scored much in this series. Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj have taken wickets for India, but England’s strategy has given them a lot to think about for Day 3.
