In one of the most exciting matches of this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators, Quetta won in the end, thanks to a fantastic performance by Sherfane Rutherford. He hit six sixes during his innings of 58 runs.
Rutherford came to bat when Quetta was struggling at 89 runs for the loss of four wickets, and soon they lost their fifth wicket too. With two new players at the pitch, Rutherford and his teammate Akeal Hosein, things were tough.
Among Rutherford’s six sixes, one gained a lot of attention on social media because of how far and high it went. It even hit the roof of the Karachi Stadium!
During the seventeenth over’s final ball, Rutherford smashed a huge six over the deep mid-wicket boundary against Hasan Ali. This six relieved a lot of pressure as Quetta needed only 34 runs from the last 18 deliveries, which they managed to get.
After this brilliant innings, Rutherford will play for Quetta again in their next match against Islamabad United on 2nd March in Rawalpindi.
