DC bowler Arundhati fined for breaching WPL code

Arundhati Reddy, a player for the Delhi Capitals team, got in trouble during a Women’s Premier League (WPL) match against UP Warriorz. She got fined 10% of her match fees for not behaving well on the field. The match happened at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Arundhati, who is 26 years old, got a wicket during the game, which Delhi Capitals won easily by nine wickets.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) said in a statement that Arundhati Reddy broke the rules during the match. She accepted that she did something wrong as per the WPL Code of Conduct. The rule she broke is about saying or doing things that can make a batter angry after they get dismissed. This is called a Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 of the WPL’s Code of Conduct.

The statement from the WPL said that the decision made by the Match Referee about Arundhati’s fine is final and cannot be changed. Arundhati took the wicket of a batter named Poonam Khemnar during the match. In the same match, Radha Yadav performed really well, taking four wickets and giving away only 20 runs. This helped restrict the Warriors team to a score of 119/9.

After that, Delhi Capitals easily chased down the target, scoring 120 runs with the loss of just one wicket in 14.4 overs. Meg Lanning scored 51 runs, and Shafali Verma remained not out with 64 runs.

So, in summary, Arundhati Reddy got fined for her behavior during the match, but Delhi Capitals still won the game comfortably.
