The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to start on February 17th, but there may be some challenges. Many star players are opting to play in other leagues like the Bangladesh Premier League, ILT20, and SA20 instead. This has created a big problem for all six PSL franchises.

Why are these players choosing other leagues? It’s because the PSL clashes with other tournaments. Also, some cricket boards are saying no to their players playing in the PSL. This means the PSL is losing out on big names.

Like Multan Sultans, for example. They’ve lost several players, including Reece Topley from England, who got injured and had to pull out. Even the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) didn’t give Topley permission to play in the PSL.

It’s not just Multan Sultans facing problems. Other teams like Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators are missing out on key players too. Lungi Ngidi from South Africa won’t be playing for Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators will be without Wanandu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka.

It’s not just those mentioned. More players from places like the West Indies, South Africa, England, and Afghanistan are not joining the PSL. This really hurts the league.

One person who owns a team thinks the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should think again about when the PSL happens. With many other leagues going on, it’s tough to get the best players to come. Also, there are many international cricket series going on in January and February, such as Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan, South Africa vs. New Zealand, and West Indies vs. Australia.

The owner thinks it’s important to change when the PSL happens to keep it interesting and get the big players. Otherwise, fans and players might not be as interested anymore.
