Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are blessed with a baby boy ‘Akaay’, sharing the news on social media

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced on Tuesday that they have become parents to a baby boy. The baby named Akaay was born on February 15, the couple announced on their Instagram account. “With great happiness and hearts full of love, we are happy to tell everyone that on February 15, we welcomed our son Akaay and little sister Vamika into this world,” wrote Kohli and Anushka.

Earlier this month, AB de Villiers, Kohli’s long-time teammate at Roya Challengers Bangalore, shared on his YouTube channel that the couple is expecting their second child. De Villers shared excerpts from the text he exchanged with Kohli.

“So I wrote to him and said: ‘I want to see you (sic) now, cookie. How did you do?’. He said: “I really need to be with my family now. I’m doing well.’ Yes, her second child is on the way.

But later, in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, de Villiers admitted: “At the same time, I also made a terrible mistake by spreading false information, which was not true at all. I think the best for Virat’s family comes first. No one knows what’s going on there, all I can do is wish him luck.

Last month, when India announced its squad for the first two of the five Tests against England, the BCCI said in a press release that Kohli would miss the Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam matches “due to personal reasons”. Expecting him to return later in the series, the Indian cricket board said before the Rajkot Test that the former Indian skipper has been ruled out of the rest of the series.

“Virat Kohli will not be available for selection for the rest of the series due to personal reasons. The Board respects and supports Mr Kohli’s decision,” the BCCI said.

IND vs ENG: Four Possible Replacements if Jasprit Bumrah Rests for Ranchi Test

With a big 434-run victory over England in the third Test in Rajkot, India is now leading 2-1 in the five-match series.

On the bowling side, Jasprit Bumrah did really well, taking the most wickets in all three Tests so far. Because he worked so hard, he might take a break in the next Test in Ranchi as part of a plan to manage players’ workload. In the second Test in Visakhapatnam, India had given a rest to bowler Mohammed Siraj.

In the Visakhapatnam Test, Bumrah, who is 30 years old, helped India win with nine wickets, including an amazing six for 45 in the first innings. In total, he bowled 80.5 overs in the series and got 17 wickets with an average of 13.65.

Now that Bumrah might rest, India is thinking about who can replace him in the Ranchi Test. Since Ranchi’s pitch is usually good for spinners, India might bring in a new spinner or a medium pacer instead of Bumrah. Siraj will probably lead the attack.

Here are some options for Bumrah’s replacement in the Ranchi Test:

  1. Mukesh Kumar

   – A 30-year-old Bengal pacer.

   – Did okay in the last three Tests.

   – Had a great game at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, taking 10 wickets in a match.

   – Good on tricky pitches, might replace Bumrah.

  1. Akash Deep

   – A 27-year-old Bengal quick.

   – Got his first chance to play for India after the second Test.

   – Took 10 wickets in two games against England Lions in Ahmedabad.

   – Important player for Bengal in red-ball cricket.

  1. Axar Patel or Washington Sundar

   – If the Ranchi pitch helps spinners, India might choose an extra spinner.

   – Axar Patel was dropped for the third Test but can be considered again.

   – Washington Sundar hasn’t played a Test in almost three years.

In the last England game, India struggled against spin, so they might pick a spinner if the pitch is good for it. Axar Patel or Washington Sundar could replace Bumrah in that case.

The most enduring 48 hours we’ve ever experienced”: Prithi Narayanan, wife of R Ashwin, pens a touching message.

R Ashwin’s wife, Prithi Narayanan, wrote a touching message after the Indian spinner returned to play on Day 4 following a tough time at home. Ashwin had hit his 500th wicket in Test cricket during the Rajkot Test and attended a press conference afterward. Later that night, it became public that Ashwin had left the team due to a family emergency.

Prithi shared on Instagram, “We hoped for 500 in Hyderabad, but it didn’t happen. Nor in Vizag. So, I celebrated with sweets at 499. 500 came quietly.” She continued, “A lot happened between 500 and 501. It was the longest 48 hours of our lives. But this is about the 500. And the 499 before that.

She expressed pride in Ashwin’s achievement and called him an outstanding person, saying, “I am very proud of you, R Ashwin. We love you.”

Addressing Ashwin’s departure, she said, “Family comes first. When we heard about his family issue, there was no doubt. He wanted to be with them, and it was the right thing to do. We missed him, but we were happy he came back. It shows his character.”

Former India coach Ravi Shastri mentioned that Ashwin flew home on a special flight arranged by BCCI secretary Jay Shah. “Jay Shah organized a charter plane for Ashwin’s trip home and back,” Shastri revealed during commentary.

Reportedly, Jasprit Bumrah is set to take a break during the fourth Test against England.

The main fast bowler for India, Jasprit Bumrah, is going to take a break during the next Test match in Ranchi. This match starts on February 23. The decision to give Bumrah a break is because the Indian team wants to manage his workload better.

The Indian team plans to leave Rajkot and go to Ranchi on Tuesday, but Bumrah might not go with them for the fourth Test. Whether Bumrah plays in the last Test in Dharamsala depends on how he feels after the Ranchi Test, the report added.

Bumrah will probably travel from Rajkot to Ahmedabad by road on Monday. It’s about a four-hour drive. Bumrah has taken the most wickets in the series so far, with 17. He has bowled nearly 81 overs in the first three Tests in Hyderabad, Vizag, and Rajkot.

Like Bumrah, another fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, was rested earlier during the second Test in Vizag. Right now, there’s no news about whether another bowler will replace Bumrah for the Ranchi match.

Mukesh Kumar, who was let go from the squad for the third Test so he could play a Ranji game for Bengal, is expected to join the team again in Ranchi.

IND vs ENG: Ravichandran Ashwin Pulls Out of Rajkot Test Due to Family Medical Emergency

During the cricket match between India and England at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, there’s some important news you should know about. Ravichandran Ashwin, a key player known for spinning the ball for India, won’t be playing because something urgent happened in his family. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed this after Day 2 of the Rajkot Test.

The BCCI really cares about Ashwin and his family. They think it’s really important for players and their families to be okay. They want everyone to be respectful and give Ashwin and his family some privacy during this hard time. The Board and the team said they’re going to help Ashwin and his family as much as they can. They also said a big thank you to the fans and the media for being understanding and supportive during this tough time.

Before this sad news, Ashwin did really well in the game. He scored 77 runs with Dhruv Jurel for the eighth wicket in India’s first innings. He also reached a big goal by getting his 500th Test wicket by dismissing Zak Crawley. This made him the second-fastest player to reach this goal in Test cricket. Ashwin is now the only Indian, besides Anil Kumble, to join the special 500-wicket club.

At the end of the day, Ashwin said his achievement was for his father, saying how important his father was to him. He was excited about the rest of the match, especially since England was behind by 238 runs and had 8 wickets left before he had to leave.

Ashwin not playing is a big loss for Team India. They won’t have one of their best bowlers, which will change how they play. They’ll also miss his batting skills later in the game. Since the match is close and spinners do well in India, Ashwin not playing could really change the final score by a lot.

Understand This is T20″: Rohit Sharma’s Funny Remark to Ravindra Jadeja on No Balls Goes Viral

Every so often, the leader of India’s cricket team, Rohit Sharma, says really funny things that make everyone laugh. Even when the game is intense, he manages to say something funny. This happened during the second India vs. England Test match in Rajkot. After India scored 445 runs in their first turn to bat, England, led by Ben Duckett, played aggressively and ended the day at 207/2 after 35 overs.

Besides Duckett scoring the fastest hundred for England, the Indian bowlers struggled. Even Ravindra Jadeja, who usually bowls well, made a couple of mistakes with no balls. To cheer up Jadeja, Rohit Sharma told him on the mic, “Jaddu, think of it like a T20 game. Don’t make no-ball mistakes.” Rohit Sharma encouraged  Jadeja to imagine he was playing a T20 match, where no-ball mistakes aren’t allowed.

A video of Rohit Sharma’s funny comment went viral:

IND vs ENG 3rd Test: England Trail By 238 Runs At Stumps On Day 2

Duckett’s 88-ball century changed the game. England is 238 runs behind India with 8 wickets left. Duckett will continue batting on Day 3 with Joe Root, who hasn’t scored much in this series. Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj have taken wickets for India, but England’s strategy has given them a lot to think about for Day 3.

Virat Kohli withdraws from India-England series, change in pace department

The former captain of the Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli has reported to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the senior national selection committee that he won’t be playing in the last three Tests of the series against England. This decision came during a meeting where the selectors were deciding on the squad for the matches in Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamshala.

At the start of the series, Kohli talked with Indian captain Rohit Sharma, the team leaders, and the selectors. He said that while protecting his country is his main focus, he has some personal issues that need his full attention.

Afterward, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a press release, “We understand Kohli’s choice. The Board and team leaders support him. The rest of the team believes in their skills to perform well in the Test series.”

Kohli won’t be playing in the first home series of his career. After India made a strong comeback in Vizag to tie the series at 1-1, the selectors chose not to alter the winning team too much. They appreciated the good performances in the Test series.

Shreyas Iyer, a player who bats in the middle of the cricket lineup, won’t be playing the next three Tests because he got hurt. He’ll be looked after by the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru while he gets better. Rahul and Jadeja couldn’t play in the second Test because they were injured, but now they’re all better and back on the team, which helps keep everything fair.

The people who chose the players also decided to make sure Jasprit Bumrah doesn’t get too tired, so he can play well in the important third Test. They picked Akash Deep to take Avesh Khan’s place for the rest of the tests. The people who chose the players think Avesh should focus on playing in the Ranji Trophy instead of sitting on the bench. Akash Deep made a good impression on the people who chose the players and Rohit during a recent match against the England Lions in Ahmedabad.

‘Made a terrible mistake…’: AB de Villiers takes back his statement on Virat Kohli’s absence

There’s been a big fuss around former South African cricket star AB de Villiers recently. He accidentally shared some wrong info about why Indian cricket champ Virat Kohli wasn’t playing in the ongoing England Test series.

De Villiers, who’s good friends with Kohli, felt bad about his mistake and said sorry for spreading false news about Kohli’s personal life.

“Family always comes first, like I said on my YouTube show. I messed up and shared some wrong info. Nobody really knows what’s going on. All I can do is hope he’s doing okay,” de Villiers explained in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar.

At first, de Villiers thought Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma, might be expecting their second child. He thought that’s why Kohli wasn’t playing in the early matches against England.

But later, de Villiers realized he was wrong. He said sorry for causing confusion and admitted he was spreading fake news.

Even after de Villiers cleared things up, people still wonder why Kohli isn’t playing. Some say he might miss more matches in Rajkot and Ranchi. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) hasn’t given any official updates, so nobody’s sure what’s going on with Kohli and what it means for the team.

De Villiers wants everyone to remember how important family is. He hopes people will support Kohli during this uncertain time.
