PSL 2024: LAH vs KAR Dream11 Prediction for February 24 Match

The 10th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 will feature the LAH (Lahore Qalandars) vs KAR (Karachi Kings). This exciting match will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, February 24.

The Lahore Qalandars have played three games but haven’t secured a win yet. They lost to the Multan Sultans in their last match. The batters struggled a bit, managing to score only 166/5 before the Sultans chased down the total with an over to spare.

On the other hand, the Karachi Kings won their first game in their last outing. The bowlers did exceptionally well, restricting Peshawar Zalmi to 154 runs. The batters then comfortably chased the target down with seven wickets in hand.

Now, let’s talk about the top three players you should consider for your Dream11 team for the LAH vs KAR match on Saturday.

Shaheen Afridi was outstanding with the ball for the Lahore Qalandars in their last game against the Multan Sultans. After setting a target of 167, the Qalandars needed a strong bowling performance to defend it, and Afridi delivered. He took crucial wickets, including Reeza Hendricks and David Willey, ending with figures of 2/25 in his four overs, which included a maiden. Afridi looked in great form and is a solid choice as captain or vice-captain for your Dream11 team for the LAH vs KAR game.

The Karachi Kings secured their first win of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 in their last match, with experienced player Shoaib Malik playing a pivotal role. He showcased an excellent all-round performance against Peshawar Zalmi to help his team secure victory. Malik started by taking a wicket on the very first ball he bowled, dismissing the dangerous Saim Ayub. During the chase, Malik played a composed innings of 29 runs, guiding his team to victory in just 16.5 overs. He’s a reliable player who can contribute with both bat and ball.

Rassie van der Dussen of Lahore Qalandars has been in superb form in PSL 2024. Despite his team’s losses, Rassie has shown his class and is the leading run-scorer for the Qalandars in the tournament. In their last match against the Multan Sultans, Rassie scored a fantastic fifty, hitting four boundaries and two maximums to score 54 runs off 37 balls. With already 140 runs in three matches, he’s a must-have for your Dream11 team for the upcoming LAH vs KAR contest on Saturday.

Hawk-Eye Confirms DRS Error in PSL 2024 Quetta vs. Islamabad

The cricket match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 22 became controversial due to issues with the Decision Review System (DRS).

In the 11th over of Quetta Gladiators’ batting, Rilee Rossouw was at the crease, having scored 13 runs from 18 balls. When Agha Salman from Islamabad United bowled, Rossouw attempted a sweep shot, but the ball hit his pads. The on-field umpire declared Rossouw ‘Out’ after Islamabad United appealed.

Rossouw wasn’t sure about the decision, so he asked for a review using the DRS. Islamabad United’s players were surprised when the replay showed that the ball didn’t even come close to hitting the stumps. According to the DRS, the ball was spinning away from the stumps, indicating it wasn’t a clean hit.

Because of this mistake in the DRS, Islamabad United lost the advantage. Rossouw, taking advantage of the situation, played a tough innings of 33 runs off 38 balls, helping his team chase down the target of 139 runs with three wickets remaining and 1.4 overs left.

The error caused a lot of criticism from players and cricket experts. To make matters worse, Hawk-Eye, the technology used for ball tracking in the DRS, admitted to making a mistake in judging Rossouw as not out against Salman Ali Agha.

It’s important to note that Hawk-Eye is the only technology approved by the International Cricket Council for ball tracking. It has been a key part of the Decision Review System since it was first tested in 2008.

Warner ruled out of final T20I, but expected to be fit for start of IPL

David Warner can’t play the last T20I against New Zealand in Auckland because he hurt his adductor. But don’t worry, he should be okay for the IPL starting next month.

Warner didn’t play in the second match on Friday because the team planned for him to take a break during the series.

According to Cricket Australia, Warner needs a short time to recover. He should be fine for the Indian Premier League and the T20 World Cup later this year.

He might need about seven to ten days to get better. Missing the final match of the series means Warner won’t play any more international matches for Australia before the T20 World Cup in June. He scored 32 runs off 20 balls in the first game in Wellington but some people in the crowd weren’t happy with him. He mentioned earlier that he didn’t like how the crowd behaved during the 2016 tour.

With Warner out, Steven Smith will likely play at the top of the order. He made 11 runs off 7 balls in the second T20I. Even though he hit a great six, Lockie Ferguson got him out.

Smith might not start in the World Cup even if he’s picked. Warner, Travis Head, and Mitchell Marsh are expected to be the top three players.

Matt Short played in the first match but didn’t have to bat or bowl. He might get another chance to play. Marsh might take a break before the Test series, and Matthew Wade might lead the team.

Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood might not play in Sunday’s match. Mitchell Starc and Spencer Johnson might play instead.

IPL 2024: Pant or David Warner, who will lead Delhi Capitals?

Rishabh Pant had a bad accident in December 2022, but now he’s back in cricket with full energy! Even though he might not play international cricket soon, he’s all set to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with the Delhi Capitals.

Rishabh won’t be keeping wickets for the team, but he’s going to be a great batter. The Delhi Capitals’ co-owner, Parth Jindal, said Rishabh will be the captain for the upcoming IPL season. He thinks Rishabh is a great leader!

“Rishabh is hitting balls, running, and starting to keep wickets again. He’s likely to be completely fit for the IPL. I’m expecting Rishabh to play in the IPL and be our leader from the first match. For the first seven games, we’ll use him only as a batter. After that, we’ll see how his body is feeling,” Jindal told ESPN Cricinfo.

Rishabh’s return to keeping wickets is still a work in progress. Right now, he can’t keep wickets for the whole 20 overs while batting. So, for the first seven games of the IPL, he’ll only focus on batting. After seeing how his body handles it, they’ll decide what he’ll do for the rest of the tournament. They’re not planning to make David Warner the captain again.

Jindal also talked about Anrich Nortje, a South African player. He’s almost ready for the first game after recovering from some fitness problems. Nortje is bowling at 80% power now, and he’ll be at 100% soon.

Jindal thinks the team will be strong with Rishabh back. He praised Harry Brook from England, who might play at No. 6. He also talked about Mitchell Marsh, who’s the captain of Australia’s T20I team and plays a big role for the Delhi Capitals.

Jindal feels good about the team’s strength and the players’ skills, especially Tristan Stubbs, who did great in the SA20 and won with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in 2024.
